“Bichos do Brasil” is a performance that searchs to show the richness of the brazilian fauna through the plastic resources. Measured in puppets, music and choreography, it looks like a jungle`s enviroment without requiring a human behavior of the characters.
The performance is composed by 15 sketes that portray the jungle animals daily.
The soundtrack was made specially for this performance and it takes a few of brazilian ritm musics like Forró, Frevo, Samba, Bossa Nova, Maracatu.
“Bichos do Brasil”is a warning for the animals extinction not to happen, inside of the imaginary minds, that can influence in the source of brazilian
popular myth.
Without the text, 03 performers and more than 50 puppets made of natural materials, which the shape is established by a “cabaça” (a typical brazilian material) that gains a news look with a treatmnet of colors, searches for a impression of rusticity or rough, and the giants inflated puppets promote a retake of Pia Fraus back to their roots: become a contemporary element of the Brazilian Culture.
This performance, that can be played in theater or street, premiered in 2002 and it was already played in 8 countries (Argentina, Espanha, EUA, Venezuela, Bolivia, Italia, Colombia, Chile) and many brazilian states, played near 800 times.
