FILHOTES DA AMAZÔNIA

Release

The central idea of the spectacle is the relation of the parents with its younglings, as much the animals as the human beings, showing to the existing proximity in the relations between parents and children of any species. The sketes of the spectacle show histories that disclose differents pieces of this situation.

The spectacle starts with an aboriginal family, whose head will tell to the aboriginal childrens many tales and stories about animals. So, we have sketes with a lot of kind of animals, divided in three plans: air (with the birds), the rivers (with fish, piranhas (Brazilian fish) and frogs) and the land (ounces, quatis, preguiças, monkeys, among others).

The histories show different situations: a small bird that tries to learn how to fly with its mother helps; a family of sing frogs, whose “dissonant” youngling cause some problems during its “presentations” on the edge of the lake; a family of piranhas that eat everything they see; a ounce that searchs for food crazily , without getting success in its tries , that always get confused by one little monkey – some of the situations portrayed in the spectacle are these.

The scene has left of aboriginal references and the nature: a giant turtle, with 3,5m of height and 5m of length is used as a stage for the manipulation of all the puppets. This structure, covered for straw and formed by diverse openings and doors, makes possible that the scene moves totally to each sequence of scenes: for the scene of the indians, its giant hoof, covered for the straw represents great a hollow one. When capsizing for another side of the turtle, a door if opens in the superior part of the hoof and a couple of enamored Toucans appear to carry through the next scene, and so on.
