Lorca portrayed in his work the disappointment of love, the lack of affective relations with the depth and originality of the few. In this spectacle, in a burlesque atmosphere, the theme is treated in a fascinating way, within an unusual universe: the world of insects. Social problems, pleasures, doubts, joys, defects, everything is present in this small town of cockroaches, limpets and butterflies.

They love and suffer very much like ours, human beings. Is it impossible for an impossible love to tear apart any heart, be it a poet or a cockroach, or why not, a cheap poet? After all, “… love is born with the same intensity in all planes of life, … because everything is the same in nature.” (F.G.Lorca)
